Giants vs Marlins 7/28

Written by Bear Silber in

So I woke Saturday not knowing exactly what I wanted to do. I had been trying all week to go to Yosemite but that didn’t work out. I was thinking of going to Santa Cruz for the day but it was so darned crowded. I was thinking that maybe I could go to the Giants game and get a shot at seeing Bonds’ 755 tying hit. I didn’t have a ticket and I didn’t have anyone to go with. What the hell, I’ll just drive up there and figure it out. I was just about on the freeway when I decided I’d call Doug Falk. I asked him if he was in town and what he was doing for the night. He said he was going to the Giants! And he had an extra ticket! Sweet deal. So I ended up going with Doug, Jeanne and Alec. We had a great time and the game was pretty good.

It was the first time I’d seen a Giants game since they played at Candlestick. I love everything about San Francisco, it’s so much fun. It got a bit chilly though. I wasn’t expecting the wind at night. I stood out in right field the whole game. The game was pretty slow until the end. The Giants rallied in the 9th to win 4-3. Barry did nothing whatsoever. Alec and I watched batting practice. I was 2 inches from catching a foul ball but I ended up cutting my hand instead. I had to go to the first aid office.
