A little after 2:00 P.M. PST today Michael Joe Jackson was found not guilty on all charges brought against him.

What is it about celebrity and high profile court cases? I found myself watching the annoucement live, listening to the Court Clerk read off the verdicts. I felt like I was a part of something, maybe even a part of history. I remember for the OJ verdict my class took half the day off just to watch it.

Nothing even happened. Some wierd (wealthy) guy got accused of doing some weird things by some people who felt that they could lie well enough to get some money. In the end, he’s still weird and wealthy (we’ll see) and the parents didn’t get a dime. Michael went through hell for 205 days, countless man hours were essentially wasted, county and state monies were wasted, people were hastled and Santa Maria was turned into a zoo all because a couple people thought that they could get money out of a weird rich guy. Yet most of America was riveted by this, including myslef. Why? So I can say I watched the verdict live. Woo hoo.

I hope the parents relize what they’ve put their children through and I hope they straighten up. I really hope Michael relizes where he’s headed (reportedly he’s in debt over 600 million) and he gets his act together. Obviously he is doing some things wrong. I do think good things will come from this but we’ll see. I guess we’ll have to stay tuned.
